Hello dear friends and family…we would like to update you on the hectic month we’ve had. On May 31, we welcomed our friends Leigha and Kyle to Kenya. Leigha was our midwife in the Philippines who assisted in Rowen’s birth. How ironic that now she is considering Kenya as her next field of service! This was her dad’s first time outside of North America and we had the privilege of taking them to see wild animals at the Nairobi National Park. Our guests made their way to Garissa on June 3rd, the same day we boarded the fast train to Mombasa. Our first two days were spent on the beach! Our family vacation was a joint celebration of our 10 year anniversary and Vernon finishing another year of homeschool!

Grace Bible Church in Mombasa held a pastor’s convention on June 7 and 8. Our special guest speaker was Pastor Osias Cadelina, the newest national director of GBC Philippines! Robby’s session was “Serving with Passion.” We also spent these last 5 days of our coast trip visiting all 3 churches, evangelizing in the neighborhood and enjoying food and fellowship with the pastors and church members. On the last day, by the grace of God and many generous donations we purchased our vehicle! This made it possible for us to drive our family along with Pastor Cadelina and Pastor Titus back home to Thika.

Grace Bible Church Thika hosted the official GBC Pastor’s Convention on June 13-15. We had a good turn out of 25 pastors and many came with their wives. We had a nice venue and good cooks. Most importantly Pastor Cadelina along with other speakers encouraged pastors to rededicate themselves in Church planting and evangelism because our time is short.
